After saving everyone's lives Roddy was praised as a hero for his selfless deeds and finally became part of a family. Roddy was initially pretentious, cowardly, and pampered possibly brought on by being spoiled all of his life by Tabitha, the very rich girl who raised him.ĭespite being a rat, Roddy had an extremely sophisticated upbringing and spoke with fluency and sophistication in his mannerisms however, he was also a very lonely individual as he grew up in a cage all of his life, cut off from his own kind and growing up with no family.Īs the film begins to progress Roddy became assertively more loyal, brave, courageous, and protective rat, even protecting the entire colony of rats from being killed by The Toad. When there, he meets and befriends a rat named Rita Malone who agrees to help him get back to his home in return for one of his rubies since the one she had was fake.Īfter defeating the Toad (who tried to wipe out all the rats living in the sewers), Roddy stays with Rita in the sewers and lets Sid take his place as Tabitha's pet. However Sid is aware of what's going on and retaliates by pushing Roddy into the toilet and flushing him down to the sewers. But soon enough another rat named Sid ends up in the house and takes a liking to the place and decides to stay there much to Roddy's dismay.ĭetermined to get rid of Sid, Roddy lures him to the toilet, claiming it to be a Jacuzzi. One day, Tabitha along with her parents went on holiday so Roddy had the house to himself.
Roddy and her make a deal that if she gets him back home, he will give her real jewels that belong to Tabitha's mother though he doesn't reveal he is a pet.Roddy is a rat who used to live in a posh house in Kensington, England with his owner Tabitha. When she calms down, she explains how hard she and her dad worked in the sewers and how he broke every bone in his body, shown to be literally to get the ruby. Rita is very upset and begins to throw various objects at Roddy, implying that she will sell the ruby and use the money for her family. Roddy catches it and reveals it to be a fake. They meet up once more when Roddy jumps onto her ship, causing her to almost lose her prized ruby. She uses the cable as a belt and parts with Roddy as she parkours safely to the ground. She uses the Master Cable to zipline from the hideout, only to have Roddy hitch a ride on her. When the pair are trapped in The Toad's ice machine, she devises a plan to get out using a paper clip for the lock and unscrewing the top of the tube, somehow trapping Whitey and Spike inside. She proves she can take care of herself as she beats up the lackeys, only to be stopped by Whitey. She hides him on the ship when she hears The Toad's cronies coming for her, though he gives the location away on accident.
Roddy at first thinks she is a male captain, but she corrects him when he calls her "Mister Captain Skipper Thingy" with Miss Captain Skipper Thingy. When Roddy arrives in the sewer city, he is directed by an elderly pirate cook to Rita and her ship, The Jammy Dodger. Her family seems to know how dangerous the job is, as they honour when she comes home and seem gleefully she is safe. When Rita's father had to take a break from the action (because of an accident where he literally broke every bone in his body) working in a dangerous part of the drain, Rita takes on the job of providing for her family. Rita lives for the moment and believes that taking chances is an essential part of life. Malone, as a scavenger on the old family boat, the Jammy Dodger (before it was sunk). Rita has spent most of her life, working with her father, Mr. She wears a turquoise knit shirt with orange lines, a cable as a belt (before, a regular brown belt until The Toad steals it back), flag pants adorned on London (with blue striped panties underneath), and brown cap shoes. Rita is a teenaged female mouse with pale brown fur, light green eyes, and fire-red hair.
